Axel Witsel (4/10)

Witsel added some steel and calmness to Borussia Dortmund’s midfield after a slow start to the game. But he struggled to deal with Bochum’s counter-attacks in the second half and gave away the penalty that helped the away side score the winner late on.

Jude Bellingham (6/10)

Jude Bellingham looked lively and made a number of dangerous forward runs. With the amount of chances he helped set up, the 18 year old was very unlucky not to end the game with at least one assist. Although he will feel that he should have done a better job of closing down Gerrit Holtmann before Bochum’s second goal.

Julian Brandt (5/10)

Julian Brandt’s performance was once again a mixed bag. He had a couple of cheap and erratic giveaways and missed a big chance in the first half. But he delivered a much better performance in the second half and created a couple of decent chances for his teammates.
