Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 3-4 defeat to VfL Bochum
By Tushar Bahl
Marco Reus (5/10)
Reus had a couple of really good chances but failed to find the back of the net. He did well to assist Haaland’s third goal and combined well with his teammates. But the misses and his poor defending in the build-up to Bochum’s winner will no doubt haunt him.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (7/10)
Making his first competitive start for Borussia Dortmund, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens showed glimpses of his quality and caused the Bochum defenders a lot of problems. He also helped set up Dortmund’s third goal with a lovely through ball to Marco Reus.
Erling Haaland (8/10)
Haaland found his scoring touch as he scored a hat-trick that should have resulted in a win for Borussia Dortmund. Two of his goals were from the penalty spot, and the third had a fair bit of luck. But the Norwegian international put in a much improved all-round performance and also set up a couple of good chances for his teammates.
Felix Passlack (4/10)
Passlack came on for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the second half and his defending in the lead-up to Bochum’s winner was really poor.
