Jude Bellingham on his role at Borussia Dortmund: “It’s a pleasure to have that kind of responsibility”

Jude Bellingham is enjoying the growing responsibility he is getting at Borussia Dortmund, and he wants to keep on improving for the team.
Jude Bellingham has enjoyed a remarkable rise since moving to Borussia Dortmund from hometown club Birmingham City in 2019. He has gone from strength to strength and has established himself as one of the team’s most important players.
The 18 year old’s tenacious and battling displays in midfield have helped him become a real fan favourite at Borussia Dortmund. And he has even shown on the pitch that he has all the attributes to be a leader in the team.
Bellingham believes that his role in the team is growing, and he is enjoying having the added responsibility. In an interview with Patrick Owomoyela for Borussia Dortmund’s Matchday Magazine, Bellingham said that he will do whatever it takes to try and win games for his team.
"“You have to earn the right to be a leader, especially in a changing room with so many big players, big leaders, big characters. I run hard for my teammates, I try and put myself in the way to make tackles. I know there are still better ways of communicating. Sometimes I get too frustrated and that’s something I will continue to learn. But it’s a real pleasure to have that responsibility within the team and long may it continue.”"
Bellingham also feels that he is nowhere near his best yet, and he wants to keep improving in all areas of his game.
"“I want to improve every part of my game all the time. There’s not a single part of my game that I think is anywhere near the level that it could be or should be. So I’m always trying to focus on getting better. But I’ll always give everything. I’ll do whatever it takes to try and win games for the club and that will continue.”"
Jude Bellingham has been ever present for Borussia Dortmund this season, and has played in more games than any other player in the team. He has six goals and 13 assists to his name in 41 appearances for the Black and Yellows this season.
But those numbers don’t even begin to tell the full story of Bellingham’s impact on the team’s play. And Borussia Dortmund fans will certainly be hoping that he continues to lead the way for the club for years to come.
