Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Liverpool interested in signing Konrad Laimer
Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all said to be interested in signing RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer.
Borussia Dortmund will look to bring in a new defensive midfielder this summer, with Axel Witsel set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. The Black and Yellows have been linked with a number of talented midfielders in recent weeks, including Wolfsburg’s Xaver Schlager and RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer.
According to Kicker, Laimer is attracting the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. In addition to Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be in the race to sign the 24 year old. And Manchester United have also been linked with a move for him in the past.
Laimer’s contract with RB Leipzig is set to expire at the end of next season. It remains to be seen if he will sign an extension with Leipzig or look to leave in the summer transfer window.
Laimer is enjoying an impressive season with RB Leipzig. The Austrian international has made 38 appearances so far this season, and has five goals plus six assists to his name. Two of those goals came during Leipzig’s stunning 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park last month. His performances have been crucial to Leipzig’s impressive turnaround in the second half of the season.
Ruhr Nachrichten also reported last month that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Konrad Laimer. But Xaver Schlager appears to be a more realistic target for Marco Rose’s side.
