Report: Manchester United tried to hijack Borussia Dortmund’s bid to sign Karim Adeyemi
Manchester United reportedly tried to hijack Borussia Dortmund’s bid to sign Karim Adeyemi. But the German international turned down their offer and will complete his move to BVB soon.
Borussia Dortmund have long been leading the race for the signature of Karim Adeyemi. The Black and Yellows have an agreement in place with RB Salzburg, and the move for the highly rated forward should be made official soon.
Sport1 now claim that Manchester United tried to hijack the move and they even offered Karim Adeyemi a salary that was significantly higher than Borussia Dortmund’s offer.
But the 20 year old turned down Manchester United’s offer as he has his heart set on a move to Dortmund. Adeyemi is set to sign a five year contract with BVB in the coming days. The report adds that his contract will not include a release clause.
In addition to Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Paris St. Germain and FC Barcelona were also interested in signing Adeyemi. But his preference has always been to join Borussia Dortmund. RB Salzburg will reportedly receive a transfer fee in the region of 30-35 million euros for the sale of the highly coveted forward.
Adeyemi has been one of the breakthrough stars in Europe this season, and has 21 goals and seven assists to his name in 41 appearances for RB Salzburg.
Borussia Dortmund have already signed Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck ahead of next season, and Adeyemi is set to follow suit soon. Sebastian Kehl and co. would also like to sign a new defensive midfielder and a full-back this summer.
