Paulo Dybala was linked with a shock move to Borussia Dortmund on Thursday, but the Juventus forward will not be making the switch to the Signal Iduna Park in the summer.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claimed on Thursday morning that Borussia Dortmund have submitted an offer to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, who will be a free agent this summer. But as is almost always the case with these types of stories, there is no truth to this rumour.
Corriere dello Sport rather surprisingly claimed that Borussia Dortmund are the only club to have made a concrete offer for Dybala so far. The report added that Dortmund are offering Dybala an annual salary of 4.5 million euros, and want to give him a key role in the team. However, both Sky Sport and Sport1 have now confirmed that the 28 year old is not a target for the Black and Yellows.
A player of Dybala’s stature will command a salary that Borussia Dortmund probably cannot afford to pay. The Argentina international is being heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan, although his agent denied earlier this week that an agreement has been reached with the Italian champions.
While Borussia Dortmund will not be signing Dybala this summer, they are looking to bolster their attack. BVB are closing in on the signing of Karim Adeyemi, and they will also look to bring in a new striker if, as expected, Erling Haaland leaves the club this summer. Adam Hložek, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Šeško are said to be on Dortmund’s wishlist to replace Haaland.
