Julian Brandt scored a brace as Borussia Dortmund secured second place in the Bundesliga standings with a 3-1 win over Greuther Fürth.

Borussia Dortmund survived a scare away to bottom club Greuther Fürth, as a brace from Julian Brandt helped them claim a 3-1 win. The Black and Yellows were far from their best, but managed to take the lead mid-way through the first half with Brandt firing home from close range.

Greuther Fürth showed great resilience and got back on level terms in the 70th minute through Jessic Ngankam. But Brandt restored Dortmund’s lead just two minutes later, before Felix Passlack made sure of the win in the 77th minute.

Borussia Dortmund had some really good chances and should have won by a bigger margin. But Marco Rose will no doubt be pleased with the way his side responded to Fürth’s equaliser.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 3-1 win over Greuther Fürth.

Marwin Hitz (7/10)

Hitz put in a confident display between the sticks and made some vital saves for Borussia Dortmund, especially in the second half.
