Sebastian Kehl has hinted that the deal for RB Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi is close to completion, saying that talks are on the right track.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be closing in on the signing of Karim Adeyemi, with reports claiming that an agreement in principle has already been reached with RB Salzburg. The German international will reportedly sign a five year contract with the Black and Yellows, and Sebastian Kehl has now hinted that the deal will be completed soon.
"Ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against Greuther Fürth, Kehl told Sky when asked about Adeyemi:“I said last week that I had a very good gut feeling, and that feeling has gotten even better over the week. I think we are on the right track.”"
Adeyemi, who is enjoying a breakthrough campaign with RB Salzburg, has attracted the interest of a number of big clubs across Europe. Liverpool, FC Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the highly rated forward.
But Adeyemi’s preference has always been to join Borussia Dortmund, and the transfer will now likely be completed soon.
Adeyemi has scored 21 goals and assisted a further seven in 41 appearances across all competitions for RB Salzburg this season. The Austrian giants will reportedly receive a transfer fee in the region of 30-35 million euros for the 20 year old’s sale. Adeyemi is not being planned as the direct replacement for Haaland, who appears likely to leave BVB this summer.
If the move goes through, Karim Adeyemi will become Borussia Dortmund’s third signing of the summer transfer window. Sebastian Kehl and co. have already completed the signings of Niklas Süle from Bayern Munich and Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg.
