Erling Haaland is set to complete his move to Manchester City after passing his medical tests in Brussels on Monday.

Erling Haaland is on the verge of completing his transfer to Manchester City. The 21 year old has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the English Premier League champions. And he underwent his medical tests in Brussels on Monday after being given time off by Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City will now activate the release clause in Haaland’s Borussia Dortmund contract and the transfer is set to be made official this week. The Black and Yellows will receive a transfer fee of 75 million euros for the Norwegian international’s sale.

Haaland has been linked with a host of big clubs in recent months, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. But Manchester City are set to win the race for his signature. The transfer will mark the end of a long-drawn saga surrounding the striker’s future.

Borussia Dortmund were keen to keep Haaland at the club for at least one more season, but they never stood a chance of competing with the financial power of Manchester City.

Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 appearances since joining Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020. He will make his final appearance for the club this weekend, as Marco Rose’s side take on Hertha BSC at the Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund have already stepped up their search for a new striker to replace Haaland. Sebastien Haller, Adam Hložek, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Šeško are all said to be on their list of potential targets.
