Emotional Michael Zorc thanks Borussia Dortmund supporters after special farewell

Michael Zorc was left emotional after being given an incredible farewell from the Borussia Dortmund supporters on Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund did not have anything to play for on Saturday, but it was still without a doubt one of the most special days of the season. The Black and Yellows bid farewell to the likes of Marcel Schmelzer, Axel Witsel, Erling Haaland, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Roman Bürki, Marwin Hitz, Marin Pongracic and Reinier. But no farewell led to more goosebumps and tears than that of Michael Zorc.
Michael Zorc will step down from his role as Borussia Dortmund sporting director at the end of the season, ending his 44-year long stay at the club. And he was given a stunning send-off from the BVB supporters, both before and after the game.
Ahead of kick-off, the Borussia Dortmund fans displayed an incredible choreo paying tribute to Zorc.
After Youssoufa Moukoko scored the game-winner for Borussia Dortmund, he rushed to celebrate with Michael Zorc. The emotional scenes continued at full-time, as Zorc completed a lap of honour before thanking fans for their support. Fans displayed several banners in honour of the club’s all-time leading appearance maker, before Zorc was given a guard of honour from the BVB players and officials.

This is like time travel for me today. 47 years ago I stood there for the first time where you are today.”“The most beautiful moments were always the days after special triumphs, looking into your eyes and seeing your pride, when we drove around Borsigplatz. And those moments will stay in my heart forever. That’s what’s so special about Borussia Dortmund. I thank you for your support and can only take a bow before you.”"
