Edin Terzic appointed Borussia Dortmund head coach

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the appointment of Edin Terzic as the club’s new head coach on a three year contract.

Marco Rose’s predecessor will also be his successor, as Borussia Dortmund have appointed Edin Terzic as their new head coach. The 39 year old will return to the dugout next season, having signed a three year contract with the Black and Yellows.

Borussia Dortmund have moved quickly to appoint Edin Terzic as their new head coach following their shock decision to part ways with Marco Rose. The 45 year old’s exit was sealed on Friday after an end of season analysis meeting with the BVB bosses.

Terzic returns as Borussia Dortmund head coach just one season after making way for Marco Rose. The boyhood BVB supporter joined the club in 2018 as Lucien Favre’s assistant, and then went on to replace the Swiss tactician after his sacking in December 2020.

Terzic’s appointment sparked a change in fortunes for Borussia Dortmund, as they went on to win the DFB-Pokal title and also managed to finish in the top four. He then became the club’s technical director after Marco Rose’s arrival, but is now back as head coach.

The hope will be that Terzic can make a similar impact this time around. Borussia Dortmund are undergoing a squad rebuild at the moment and have already made four signings ahead of the new season.

Borussia Dortmund are coming off a disappointing season that saw them underperform in all competitions. Preparations for the new season will get underway on June 27 when the BVB players return for pre-season training.
