The international break is almost upon us, and a number of Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their national teams as the UEFA Nations League takes centre-stage in the coming weeks.
Germany head coach Hansi Flick has included five Borussia Dortmund players in his squad for the upcoming international break. Marco Reus, Julian Brandt, as well as new signings Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi have all been called up. Germany are set to play four UEFA Nations League games next month (against Italy (x2), England and Hungary).
Jude Bellingham has been named in the England squad for their Nations League quadruple header against Hungary, Germany and Italy. New Borussia Dortmund signing Salih Özcan will be away with Turkey for their games against Faroe Islands, Lithuania and Luxembourg.
Borussia Dortmund’s Swiss duo Manuel Akanji and Gregor Kobel will take on the Czech Republic, Portugal (x2) and Spain. They could go up against Raphael Guerreiro, who has been named in the Portugal squad.
Thomas Meunier and Thorgan Hazard have been called up by Belgium for their games against the Netherlands, Poland and Wales. Donyell Malen will be on Netherlands duty for their matches against Belgium, Poland and Wales.
Youssoufa Moukoko and Luca Unbehaun have both been named in the Germany U-21s squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Hungary and Poland.
Axel Witsel (Belgium), Erling Haaland (Norway) and Marin Pongracic (Croatia) are all still technically Borussia Dortmund players even though they will be leaving the club soon. And they will also be away on international duty next month.
