Karim Adeyemi feeling confident ahead of ‘difficult’ move to the Bundesliga

Karim Adeyemi knows that making the transition to the Bundesliga will not be easy. But he is feeling confident ahead of his move to Borussia Dortmund.

Karim Adeyemi is set to bolster the Borussia Dortmund attack starting from next season, and the forward is looking forward to playing for the club he supported during his childhood. Adeyemi is expecting a difficult transition from the Austrian Bundesliga to the German Bundesliga. But he is confident that he will be able to settle in quickly and make an impact.

During the press conference ahead of Germany’s UEFA Nations League opener against Italy, Adeyemi said:

"“It’s going to be a difficult transition to the Bundesliga. But I feel good and ready and I’m looking forward to it. I was a fan of Borussia Dortmund’s aggressive, dominant and fast style of play when I was a kid. They play very quickly going forward, and with my speed I can play my part too.”"

Adeyemi also said that he is getting along really well with his future Borussia Dortmund teammates, especially Nico Schlotterbeck. There are five BVB players in the Germany squad, although Marco Reus is currently sidelined with an illness and is expected to miss Saturday’s game against Italy.

"“I get along very well with Schlotti, which was also the case in the U-21s. All of us from Dortmund have a lot of fun together here. All the newcomers want to arrive in Dortmund first and then we’ll see how the season goes.”"

For Adeyemi, Saturday’s game could mark his fourth appearance for Germany. The 20 year old is coming off an impressive breakthrough campaign with RB Salzburg. And he feels that getting playing time at the highest level, which Salzburg offer, is very important for young players.

"“Salzburg do a very good job there, especially in terms of scouting. They give very young players the chance to play in the Austrian Bundesliga and also in the Champions League. To get the minutes at that age at that level is very important for young players.”"

Karim Adeyemi also believes that Sadio Mané leaving Liverpool to join Bayern Munich this summer would be great for the appeal and attractiveness of the Bundesliga, even though he would be playing for the wrong club.

"“Mané is a fantastic player. I talked to many people about him in Salzburg. For the Bundesliga, it would be great if he played there. That would make the Bundesliga even more attractive – but he’d be moving to the wrong club.”"

Reports claim that Mané is looking to leave Liverpool this summer, and Bayern Munich are said to be leading the race for his signature.
