TSG Hoffenheim are said to be interested in signing Dan-Axel Zagadou, who will leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer at the end of the month.

TSG Hoffenheim are looking to bolster their defence ahead of the new season and Dan-Axel Zagadou is one of the names on their list of targets. This is being reported by Kicker, who add that Hoffenheim are also interested in Manchester City defender Ko Itakura and VfL Wolfsburg’s John Brooks.

Dan-Axel Zagadou will officially become a free agent at the end of the month when his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires. Sebastian Kehl revealed last month that the two parties held a very open conversation and came to the decision not to extend the defender’s expiring contract.

Zagadou has had to endure a difficult time due to injuries in recent years, but he is still only 23 and has great potential. He is also proven in the Bundesliga, and would no doubt be an excellent addition to the Hoffenheim squad should they pursue a move for him.

Zagadou, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Paris St. Germain in 2017, made a total of 91 appearances for the Black and Yellows. But with BVB signing Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck, the decision was made to part ways with the Frenchman.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Zagadou. The towering centre-back recently said that he is keeping his options open as he looks to make a decision on his next club.
