Report: Manuel Akanji on Inter Milan’s list of targets
Inter Milan are said to be interested in signing Manuel Akanji, who is free to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Manuel Akanji is said to be one of the names on Inter Milan’s shortlist as they look to rejig their defence ahead of the new season. This is being reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, who add that the Italian giants are also interested in Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković.
It is increasingly likely that at least one of Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni will leave Inter Milan this summer. And the Nerazzurri will likely look to bring in a new centre-back as a replacement.
Manuel Akanji’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of next season. And Sebastian Kehl confirmed last month that the Switzerland international has turned down their extension offer.
The BVB bosses are keen to sell Akanji this summer, but have yet to receive any concrete offers. Manchester United, Juventus and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 26 year old in recent weeks, but it still remains to be seen where he will play next season.
Gazzetta dello Sport also claim that Borussia Dortmund are one of the teams to have shown an interest in signing highly rated AS Roma left wing-back Nicola Zalewski. However, the UEFA Europa Conference League winners have no intention of selling the 20 year old this summer.
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing a new left-back this summer, and Sky Sport reported on Friday that TSG Hoffenheim’s David Raum is their number one target.
