Matchday 7: Borussia Dortmund vs Schalke 04 (September 16-18, 2022)

Schalke 04 are back in the Bundesliga one year after their relegation, and fans can once again look forward to the Revierderby.

Known as the mother of all derbies, the first game of the season between arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 will take place on matchday seven of the Bundesliga season at the Signal Iduna Park.

Games between these two teams are almost always fiery affairs. And there will be plenty of fireworks when the two sides face off in September for what will be their first meeting since February 2021.

The two teams will have very different goals going into the new season, with Borussia Dortmund aiming to fight for the title and Schalke looking to avoid relegation. But this will without a doubt be one of the most important games of the season, and both teams will be determined to get the bragging rights.
