Report: Sasa Kalajdzic not the first choice target for Borussia Dortmund

Despite being heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks, Sasa Kalajdzic is reportedly not the club’s first choice target.
Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign a new striker to replace Erling Haaland, and have been linked with a number of names in recent weeks. Sasa Kalajdzic has been mentioned as their top candidate, and BILD even claimed earlier this month that he is the club’s number one target. But Ruhr Nachrichten are now reporting that the towering striker is not as highly regarded in Dortmund as recent rumours have made it seem.
Kalajdzic is attracting the interest of a number of clubs, with Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris St. Germain all keeping tabs on him. The Austrian international has just one year left on his contract, and chances are that he will leave VfB Stuttgart this summer.
Stuttgart reportedly want a transfer fee in the region of 25 million euros for Kalajdzic. And it remains to be seen just how concrete Borussia Dortmund’s interest is in signing him. The 24 year old scored six goals in 15 appearances in the recently concluded season for Stuttgart.
Sebastien Haller and Hugo Ekitike are also said to be on Borussia Dortmund’s list of targets. And Ruhr Nachrichten add that there are at least two more candidates who are high up on the club’s wishlist, whose names have not been mentioned as much in the media. It will be interesting to see who the BVB bosses end up signing in the end to fill the void left by Haaland’s departure.
