Report: Borussia Dortmund agree personal terms with Sebastien Haller
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Sebastien Haller, but Ajax have rejected their first offer for the striker.
Borussia Dortmund have made Sebastien Haller their number one target to replace Erling Haaland, and reports claimed on Sunday that they are prepared to pay 33 million euros plus bonuses for the Ajax striker. According to De Telegraaf, Haller has already agreed to join BVB on a five year contract.
The newspaper adds that Borussia Dortmund’s first offer for the 27 year old has been rejected by Ajax, who are holding out for a transfer fee in the region of 40 million euros. But it is expected that the two clubs will reach an agreement for a fee of around 37 million euros in the coming days. That would make Haller the club’s most expensive signing of all time.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker scored 34 goals in just 42 appearances for Ajax this season, including 11 in the UEFA Champions League. BILD claimed on Sunday that he wants to make his return to the Bundesliga this summer, and is even willing to turn down more lucrative offers from English Premier League clubs in order to join Borussia Dortmund.
The Black and Yellows are due to begin their preparations for the new season next week, and they will be aiming to secure the signing of Haller before then.
Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign Haller in 2019 as well, but they were priced out of a move for him then. Now it looks like they will finally get their man this summer.
