The official announcement of Sebastien Haller’s move to Borussia Dortmund will probably only be made in July, according to reports in Germany.
Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign Sebastien Haller from AFC Ajax for a club record transfer fee of 31 million euros plus bonuses. The Ivory Coast international was in Dortmund on Thursday morning to undergo his medical tests ahead of the transfer. But the transfer is not expected to be made official this month.
This is being reported by Kicker, who add that Ajax have made the request to delay the official confirmation of the transfer till July. This is because the Dutch giants want the income from the transfer to appear in their books in the next financial year.
Kicker add that this delay will not make much of a difference for Borussia Dortmund, with Haller now likely to start training with his new teammates from July 08. The striker is set to become Borussia Dortmund’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
Haller has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Borussia Dortmund and will join the club on a four year contract. According to reports, he will earn an annual salary of eight million euros.
Sebastien Haller will replace Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund following the Norwegian international’s move to Manchester City. The 28 year old scored 34 goals in 42 appearances for Ajax this season, including 11 in just eight UEFA Champions League games. And he will be aiming to continue his scoring prowess after completing his move to Dortmund.
