Borussia Dortmund reveal shirt numbers for new signings

Borussia Dortmund have revealed the shirt numbers that new signings Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Karim Adeyemi, Salih Özcan and Alexander Meyer will be wearing this season.

Nico Schlotterbeck will have the number four on the back of his shirt after joining Borussia Dortmund from SC Freiburg in the summer. The German international follows in the footsteps of Neven Subotic and Christian Wörns, who also wore the number 4 shirt during their time with the Black and Yellows.

Soumaila Coulibaly had the number four shirt most recently, but the highly rated defender will wear the number 44 shirt next season.

Karim Adeyemi will wear the number 27 shirt, just like he did during his time with RB Salzburg. Steffen Tigges had the number 27 on the back of his shirt last season, but has now joined FC Köln on a permanent transfer.

Niklas Süle has decided to go with the number 25, which was also his shirt number when he was at TSG Hoffenheim. The centre-back is joining Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

Salih Özcan will wear the number six shirt at Borussia Dortmund following his move from FC Köln. The last BVB player to have the number six on the back of his shirt was Thomas Delaney, and Özcan will look to make a similar impact.

Goalkeepers Alexander Meyer and Marcel Lotka will have the numbers 33 and 35 on the back of their shirts respectively.

Marius Wolf will also have a new shirt number next season. The wide player has gone with the number 17 shirt. The shirt number for Sebastien Haller will be revealed once his move to Borussia Dortmund becomes official.
