Borussia Dortmund have released an interview with new signing Niklas Süle, and the Germany international seems very excited about starting his career in black and yellow. The Germany international spoke about his initial reaction to negotiations prior to signing for the club, stating that he felt a connection to the project the club provided him a vision of:

"“When I talked to the club, I felt a real connection to the club’s ambitions, with what I’ve experienced in my career so far, and with what I still want to achieve.”"

Niklas Süle affirmed that the club’s goals align with his own, and his overall disposition towards the prospect of achieving them with BVB was one of excitement, with the player stating his readiness for the new season to begin.

Süle mentioned that at age 27 he can’t “hide anymore”, which for him means making sure he plays an integral role in bringing success to his new club.

Aside from overall success on the pitch, Süle also touched on the relationship he wishes to build with the fans. He notes that despite having played for Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich, he has come to Dortmund to make an impression on the black and yellow faithful, and the best way to do that is to play well and show that he is giving his all for his new club.

"“People will see that I’m getting stuck in for the club colors, and that’s definitely my goal…then people will enjoy coming to games and maybe they even say ‘hey, he was a pretty good signing’. That’s what I’m hoping for.”"

Süle also mentioned his connection with fellow new signings Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi, both of whom he knows from the German national team. The former Bayern Munich defender praised his new teammates and the work Borussia Dortmund have done on the transfer market to bring them in.

"“They’re [Adeyemi and Schlotterbeck] both fantastic guys, and I get on well with them. They’re supremely talented and I think BVB have made some really good signings.”"

Süle also mentioned the fact that he knows Gregor Kobel from his time with Hoffenheim, noting how far the Swiss shot stopper has come over the years.

"“…he’s [Kobel] good at leading by example, he’s vocal, and he gives orders.”"

Kobel and Süle will play an integral role in helping re-shape the Dortmund defense going into the new season. Both Kobel’s presence on the pitch and Süle’s experience will be indispensable in making sure that the team keeps more clean sheets and allows less goals.

The fact that he is here and is already excited to give a hundred percent for the fans and the club is a very good sign that he will be one of the main forces behind any success the club achieves next season.
