Borussia Dortmund enjoyed a winning start to pre-season as goals from Prince Aning, Bradley Fink, and Göktan Gürpüz helped them claim a 3-1 win over Lüner SV.

Borussia Dortmund cruised to a 3-1 win over sixth division side Lüner SV in their first pre-season friendly. Mats Hummels, Youssoufa Moukoko and Tom Rothe all started for the Black and Yellows, while new signings Prince Aning and Alexander Meyer made their debuts.

With the players involved on international duty last month not yet available, head coach Edin Terzic gave chances to a number of players from the U-23s and U-19s teams.

Borussia Dortmund dominated the game right from the first whistle, but had to wait until the 45th minute to take the lead. New signing Prince Aning opened the scoring with a thunderous strike into the top corner.

Some good pressing from Aning and Moukoko helped Dortmund win the ball high up the pitch, before the highly rated left-back found the back of the net with a fine finish.

Bradley Fink came on at half time and doubled Borussia Dortmund’s lead just six minutes after the restart. The talented striker tapped the ball home on the rebound after Tom Rothe’s initial effort was saved.

Fink then turned provider for Göktan Gürpüz, who dinked the ball past the Lüner SV goalkeeper for Borussia Dortmund’s third goal.

Lüner SV pulled a goal back in the 78th minute through Ayman Annafai, but Borussia Dortmund saw out the 3-1 win in the end. It was a strong workout for the BVB players, and Lüner SV certainly didn’t make things easy for them. The Westfalenliga side defended with great resolve, and managed to frustrate Dortmund for large parts of the game.
