Borussia Dortmund could line up with a back three on Friday, with Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck all in line to start.
Süle and Schlotterbeck will both make their competitive debuts for Borussia Dortmund after joining the club in the summer. The defensive duo are set to play a key role in the Black and Yellows’ hopes this season.
Both Süle and Schlotterbeck were only able to play in two games during pre-season. So they will look to use Friday’s game to get into match rhythm ahead of next weekend’s Bundesliga opener.
Mats Hummels, on the other hand, was able to make the most of pre-season. The Borussia Dortmund vice-captain will be determined to deliver much improved performances this season after struggling to make an impact last year. If Terzic decides to go with a back four, Hummels is the likeliest to drop out of the side.
