Borussia Dortmund cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over 1860 Munich in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on Friday evening.

Borussia Dortmund began their 2022/23 season in dominant fashion, as they claimed an impressive 3-0 win over 1860 Munich in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Goals from Donyell Malen, Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi sealed the win for the Black and Yellows, who dominated the game from the first whistle to the last.

Edin Terzic’s side had 83% of possession and did not give the home side a whiff of an opportunity. Tougher tests no doubt lie ahead, but Borussia Dortmund certainly showed a glimpse of what they are capable of producing.

Donyell Malen was the pick of the BVB players. His directness and link-up play caused the 1860 Munich defenders all sorts of problems, and he was involved in all three of his side’s goals.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 3-0 win over 1860 Munich.

Gregor Kobel (6/10)

Kobel was a spectator for the majority of the game as Borussia Dortmund were in complete control. He did not have a single save to make and distributed the ball well.
