Thomas Meunier (6/10)

Meunier did a solid job defensively and made a number of forward runs without ever looking too dangerous. His crosses weren’t as effective with no Erling Haaland to get on the end of them.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck enjoyed an impressive debut and had 149 touches of the ball over the course of the 90 minutes. He completed all but three of his 141 passes and played the ball out from the back really well. The German international also made some crunching tackles and showed a strong account of himself over the course of the game.

Niklas Süle (6/10)

Süle was a calming presence in defence and also played a number of impressive passes. He was taken off at half time, with Mats Hummels coming on to replace him.

Raphael Guerreiro (7/10)

Guerreiro had a really good game at left-back. With not much to do defensively, he ventured forward at will and linked up well with Donyell Malen, Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham. He helped set up the opening goal, and continued to pick out his teammates in dangerous situations throughout the game.
