Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 1-0 win vs Bayer Leverkusen

Borussia Dortmund began their Bundesliga campaign with a hard fought 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, with Marco Reus scoring the winning goal.
A resilient defensive performance led by Gregor Kobel helped Borussia Dortmund get the better of Bayer Leverkusen on matchday one of the Bundesliga season. It was a cagey and physical game, with both sides creating a number of strong chances.
Borussia Dortmund started the game on the front foot and took the lead early on through Marco Reus. Bayer Leverkusen grew into the game after the break, but they weren’t able to find a way past the BVB defence.
The Black and Yellows were certainly not at their best for the most part, and they will see plenty of room for improvement. But the three points are all that matter in the end.

Gregor Kobel (9/10)
Kobel made a number of vital saves to help his side see out the the win. The Swiss shot-stopper came up big in the second half and prevented Patrik Schick from scoring on a number of occasions. He showed why he is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and kept a well-earned clean sheet.
