Report: Manchester City interested in signing Raphael Guerreiro
Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro is said to be on Manchester City’s list of targets as they look to bring in a new left-back before the transfer window closes.
Manchester City are looking to sign a new left-back, and Raphael Guerreiro is one name they are said to be considering. According to Sky Sports, the Borussia Dortmund left-back is one of several potential options the defending English Premier League champions are looking into.
Guerreiro has just one year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. And his future was put in doubt earlier this summer when it was reported that the BVB bosses wanted to sell him and sign David Raum from TSG Hoffenheim. But Raum decided to join RB Leipzig instead, and the Black and Yellows are going with the Portuguese international as their first choice left-back for this season.
It remains to be seen if Manchester City will make a concrete effort to sign Guerreiro, but it is unlikely that Borussia Dortmund would be willing to sanction his sale this late in the transfer window. The 28 year old is set to play a crucial role for Edin Terzic’s side this season. And finding an adequate replacement now would be very difficult.
Former Borussia Dortmund player Sergio Gomez is also set to seal a move to Manchester City. The attacking midfielder turned left-back is coming off an impressive breakthrough campaign with Belgian side Anderlecht, and it looks like he will now be linking up with Erling Haaland in Manchester.
Although it is still unclear if the 21 year old will be a part of the Manchester City first-team this season or join another club on loan.
