Thomas Meunier (4/10)

Meunier had a game to forget as he gave the ball away cheaply on a few occasions in the first half and was also booked. He was then replaced at half time by Marius Wolf.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels made a vital interception inside the BVB box early in the game. He was caught out of position before Freiburg’s goal, but was rock solid other than that.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck had a solid game for the most part and made a number of important tackles and clearances for his side. He had some problems dealing with the physical Gregoritsch, but anticipated the majority of Freiburg’s attacks well.

Raphael Guerreiro (4.5/10)

Guerreiro had some neat give-and-gos in and around the Freiburg box. But he also had a difficult time defending against Ritsu Down and Roland Sallai; and Donyell Malen had to help him out on a number of occasions. He was also outmuscled very easily in the build-up to Freiburg’s goal.
