Jude Bellingham, Karim Adeyemi nominated for the Kopa Trophy; Sebastien Haller on Ballon d’Or shortlist

Borussia Dortmund duo Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi are in contention to win the 2022 Kopa Trophy, while Sebastien Haller has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or award.

The full list of nominees for the 2022 Kopa Trophy and Ballon d’Or awards have been announced by France Football, and three Borussia Dortmund players are in contention. After finishing second in the rankings for the Kopa Trophy last year, Jude Bellingham has once again been nominated. New BVB signing Karim Adeyemi has also been named on the 10-man shortlist.

The Kopa Trophy is an award presented every year to the best performing under-21 player in the world. Bellingham and Adeyemi are both coming off excellent seasons, and no doubt deserve to be in contention.

Eduardo Camavinga, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Ryan Gravenberch, Gavi, Bukayo Saka, Nuno Mendes, and Joško Gvardiol have also been nominated for the 2022 Kopa Trophy.

The 30-man shortlist of nominees for the 2022 Ballon d’Or award has also been revealed, and Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller has been nominated. The Ivory Coast international scored 34 goals in just 43 appearances for AFC Ajax last season, before joining Borussia Dortmund for a club record transfer fee this summer.

Former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is also in contention. The 21 year old, who joined Manchester City this summer, scored 29 goals in 30 appearances for the Black and Yellows last season. Karim Benzema appears to be the heavy favourite to win the award, while the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Kevin De Bruyne are also in contention.
