Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Just days after turning 18, the highly rated winger has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the club until at least 2025.
Bynoe-Gittens has enjoyed a stunning rise over the last few months. He scored his first ever goal in professional football last week, as he helped Borussia Dortmund pull off a stunning comeback win against SC Freiburg. And after signing his new contract, the England U-19s international is determined to continue his development and help the team for years to come.
"“I can’t wait to keep working hard on myself and my game so I can hopefully help the team in the coming months and years.”"
Bynoe-Gittens joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020. Injuries and the start of the Covid-19 pandemic slowed his progress initially. But he showed his incredible quality and potential last season, as he helped the Borussia Dortmund U-19s make an impressive run in the UEFA Youth League and win the U-19s Bundesliga title.
He was given a taste of first-team football towards the end of last season. And now he has become a regular part of the first-team.
Bynoe-Gittens was also part of the England U-19s team that won the European Championships last month. And he has started this season in fine form, picking up right where he left off.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens certainly has a very exciting future ahead of him, and everyone at Borussia Dortmund will be looking forward to seeing how he develops in the coming months and years.
