Marius Wolf (3/10)

After a strong performance off the bench last week, Wolf replaced Thomas Meunier in the starting XI. But he had a torrid time at right-back and was caught out of position on a number of occasions. He was also too late to react as Burke scored the winning goal for Bremen. This performance showed why Borussia Dortmund cannot go with Wolf as their first-choice right-back.

Mats Hummels (5/10)

Werder Bremen caused the Borussia Dortmund defence problems all game long, and Hummels had a tough time dealing with their two-prong strike force at times. He was then taken off in the second half after seemingly picking up a knock.

Nico Schlotterbeck (6/10)

Schlotterbeck made a number of important challenges for his side and did a fairly solid job for the most part. He wasn’t at fault for any of the goals, and the scoreline would have been even worse had it not been for him.

Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)

Guerreiro scored a wonder goal and worked hard defensively for the majority of the game. But much like the rest of the team, he lost his way towards the end and forgot his defensive duties.
