Sebastian Kehl has given an update on the status of the players who could leave Borussia Dortmund before the transfer window closes.

There is just one more week left before the transfer window slams shut, and the futures of a number of Borussia Dortmund players are still uncertain. BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl gave an update during the press conference ahead of the game against Hertha Berlin.

Manuel Akanji and Nico Schulz are both free to leave Borussia Dortmund before the transfer window closes. The Switzerland international has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent weeks, but it remains to be seen if the Italian side will make a bid for him.

"“There is no new status with Nico and Manu. The players know about their situation. We still have a few days. Let’s just wait and see,” Kehl said."

Thomas Meunier is said to be attracting the interest of Manchester United and FC Barcelona, but Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that they are not planning to sell him this summer. Edin Terzic also rubbished reports claiming that there had been a dispute between him and Meunier, after the latter was dropped from the starting XI for last weekend’s game against Werder Bremen.

"“What was written about him did not coincide with what I heard from him,” Kehl said. “The transfer window is still open until next week, but we have no plans to sell Thomas Meunier. There will be another wild ride starting Monday. I’m not referring to us, but to the market as a whole.”"

Youssoufa Moukoko’s long-term future also remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Sebastian Kehl said on Thursday that they would like to extend the striker’s contract, but the situation regarding his future remains uncertain.

"“The situation is unchanged. We would like to extend. I’ve been trying for quite some time. But the perspective is known to him and everyone else. We deliberately chose (to sign) a striker who has a different profile and will only be with us for one year.”“All young talents come to us to take their game to the next level. And that’s the path we’re trying to show him.”"

Moukoko has featured in all four of Borussia Dortmund’s games so far this season, and has one goal to his name.
