Marius Wolf has seemingly established himself as the team’s first-choice right-back ahead of Thomas Meunier. It will be interesting to see if Terzic gives the Belgian international a chance in the team with an eye on Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League opener against FC Copenhagen.
Niklas Süle may well have to wait until Tuesday to make his return to the starting XI. Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck have formed a solid partnership in defence in recent games, and are likely to start together again on Friday.
Raphael Guerreiro is set to start at left-back against Hoffenheim. With not much depth at left-back, it will be interesting to see how Terzic manages the Portuguese international in the coming weeks.
