Borussia Dortmund kicked off their 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League campaign with a confident 3-0 victory at home against F.C. Copenhagen. Here are our match ratings for die Schwarzgelben’s players.

Dortmund had about as good of a start to this year’s Champions League campaign as they could have asked for.  Goals from Marco Reus, Raphaël Guerreiro, and Jude Bellingham saw the Black and Yellows comfortably finish with three points from their first fixture in the group stage.

With injuries in the squad aplenty, including a late addition to the list with Gregor Kobel suffering from muscular problems before the game, Borussia Dortmund will be grateful to begin the campaign with a clean sheet before next week’s match against Manchester City.

Alexander Meyer (6/10)

Meyer was relatively unchallenged for most of the game, only facing two shots on target from Copenhagen, both of which he saved. Making his competition debut after spending the majority of his career with second- and third-tier teams, Meyer put in a decent first shift. He was lucky not to concede a goal late in the game after Rasmus Falk’s goal was disallowed when VAR determined he was offside. His long passes left a good bit to be desired, but all-in-all Meyer made few mistakes in the game.
