Jude Bellingham (8/10)

Of all players on the pitch for die Schwarzgelben, Bellingham is probably the one who deserves the least credit for the loss. Jude was simply incredible. The kid plays far beyond his age, and the City game was yet another showcase of that. Forget the incredible header he scored to put BVB up in the second half, he was all over the pitch both winning possession and helping his team retain the ball in key areas.

Emre Can (6/10)

Can actually put in a rather clinical performance for his side in defensive midfield. Although fans have been rightfully critical of Can – especially against Manchester City in previous fixtures – he did well both in his challenges and in how he helped conduct the midfield. One thing that was clear from him was just how vocal he was, and it was evident that his experience and communication really helped the team defensively for the majority of the game.

Salih Özcan (6/10)

The Turkish international had a rather under-the-radar solid game. While probably not Dortmund’s best player on the pitch, he did extremely well again in helping protect the back line. While the team as a whole was asked to settle back and defend the 18-yard box, Özcan was notable for how efficient he was in defense as well as his venturing runs down the flanks where he linked up with Reus and Guerreiro.
