Borussia Dortmund duo expected to be available for FC Köln clash

Borussia Dortmund duo Gregor Kobel and Raphael Guerreiro are expected to be available for next weekend’s away game against FC Köln.

Borussia Dortmund have been forced to deal with a raft of injuries this season, with several key players spending time on the sidelines. With 11 days to go before the Black and Yellows’ next game, the injured players will get some time to rest and recover.

Edin Terzic’s side will make the trip to FC Köln next weekend, and Ruhr Nachrichten report that Gregor Kobel and Raphael Guerreiro are both expected to be available for that game. The newspaper claims that the duo are set to return to training by the start of next week.

The impending returns of Kobel and Guerreiro will be a big boost for Borussia Dortmund. Kobel made an excellent start to the season before suffering his injury. And his absence has been heavily felt between the sticks in recent games.

Marco Reus is set to be sidelined for the next few weeks with an ankle injury, while Salih Özcan remains a doubt for the game against his former club. Ruhr Nachrichten add that the midfielder has been told to rest his foot for at least a week. And a decision on his availability for the Köln game will be made after that.

Borussia Dortmund have a number of big games coming up in October, including the crunch double header against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League and the home game against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
