Borussia Dortmund is a club with a tradition of Brazilian players making a big impact. As the golden Dortmund jersey resembles the bright colors of the Seleção, the Brazilians who played for us seem to feel at home at the Westfalenstadion. From players like Júlio César, Dedê, Amoroso, and Ewerthon, BVB fans have created a special link to these Brazilian stars, waiting anxiously for the next one.

However, it has been a while since the last Brazilian superstar rose to legend status at Borussia Dortmund. You can recall Felipe Santana’s historic last-minute goal against Málaga CF during the 2013 Champions League campaign, but not many Brazilian players have been able to deliver iconic performances since then. The last experiment was Reinier, who arrived in a loan spell from Real Madrid but did not show any promising achievements to remain in fans’ memories.

Looking at the example of Real Madrid, the Spanish club invested a significant amount in youngsters Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo even before they turned 20. I think we can agree it worked out well for them.

Indeed, Borussia Dortmund don’t always have the financial means to pay 30 million euros or more on young players. But if we carefully scan the market and the scouting department works its magic, the club can sign highly rated youngsters from one of the best talent-producing countries in football.

Here is a list of young Brazilian players Borussia Dortmund should keep tabs on and consider signing. This list focuses on U-21 Brazilian talents, with high potential and an affordable market value. As a Brazilian, I have seen some of these players show signs of a very bright future, which hopefully could be in Black-and-Yellow.
