Kaiky Fernandes (18, CB, Almería)

Former Santos F.C. youngster Kaiky Fernandes is one of Brazil’s most promising defenders. Kaiky began his professional career at Pelé and Neymar’s club in 2021 and was quickly sold to Almería for 7 million euros. His potential is very high, and he has also been linked with a move to FC Barcelona in recent months.

Despite being sold for a lower price than expected, it has more to do with his former club’s delicate financial situation and not the player’s talent.

Kaiky Fernandes possesses above-average ball skills and passing ability, and his almost impeccable positioning compensates for his height of 1.86m.

Borussia Dortmund may well need a new centre-back in the coming 18 months, with Mats Hummels nearing the end of his career. Kaiky Fernandes could be an exciting option, and he certainly has the attributes to succeed in the Bundesliga.
