Andrey Santos (18, CM, Vasco da Gama)

Andrey Santos is a talented midfielder who has drawn comparisons with Sergio Busquets and is rated very highly in Brazil. His current contract with Vasco expires in 2027, and his market value is 5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

There is said to be a release clause of 40 million euros in his contract, and clubs like FC Barcelona, Manchester City, PSG and Newcastle are already showing interest in his signature. However, Borussia Dortmund should also be thinking about joining the race.

Andrey is currently playing in the second division of Brazilian football (a reminder that the Brazilian calendar is different, with the league season starting in January). His club, Vasco da Gama, is now fighting to return to next year’s Brasileirão (Série A) but just about hanging on to fourth place, which is the last promotion spot left.

Borussia Dortmund could take advantage of that situation and possibly close a deal for less. Andrey is a special ball carrier and dribbler, and he is also strong at shielding defences and retaining possession under pressure. And I believe he would be a great addition to the Black and Yellows’ squad.
