Borussia Dortmund are set to return to Bundesliga action this weekend, and a tough away game awaits them against FC Köln.

Borussia Dortmund are set to begin their run of 13 games in 42 days this weekend with a trip to FC Köln. The next few weeks will certainly test Edin Terzic’s squad in a number of ways, and it will be interesting to see how they cope with the packed fixture list.

FC Köln are sure to offer Borussia Dortmund with a tricky test this weekend. Steffen Baumgart’s side have continued to build on last season’s progress, and currently find themselves in ninth place in the Bundesliga standings.

They will also be determined to gain a measure of revenge against the Black and Yellows, who signed key players Salih Özcan and Anthony Modeste from them in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without a number of important players this weekend. Marco Reus, Gio Reyna, Gregor Kobel, Sebastien Haller, Mahmoud Dahoud, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Mateu Morey will all miss the game for the Black and Yellows.

Salih Özcan is a doubt, but Raphael Guerreiro and Julian Brandt are set to be available. Youssoufa Moukoko is also expected to be involved after recovering from the twisted neck he suffered while on international duty.

FC Köln will be without Sebastian Andersson, Timo Horn, Dimitris Limnios, Jeff Chabot, and Mathias Olesen. But Mark Uth could make his return to the squad after recovering from his injury. Former Borussia Dortmund striker Steffen Tigges could start up front for the Billy Goats.
