Salih Özcan (6/10)

Özcan was almost acting as Borussia Dortmund’s third centre-back at times. And that allowed him to make a number of vital recoveries as Köln looked to push on the counter attack in the first half. He was replaced by Youssoufa Moukoko in the second half, and his absence in midfield was telling as Köln made it 3-1 soon after.

Jude Bellingham (6/10)

Captaining the side from the start, Bellingham brought his usual energy and hard work to the game as he tried to make things happen for his side in the final third. He did well to set up Brandt’s opener and also won more duels than any other player on the pitch. But he started to tire in the second half, and there was a noticeable decrease in his performance levels.

Julian Brandt (6/10)

Brandt showed excellent composure to score the opening goal in the first half. He was heavily involved in a lot of dangerous attacking moves. But like the rest of the team, he wasn’t able to make any impact after the break.
