Borussia Dortmund make the trip to Spain to square off against Sevilla on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The UEFA Champions League group stage makes its return this week, and a tricky away game against Sevilla lies in store for Borussia Dortmund. After one win and one defeat from their opening two games, the Black and Yellows will be aiming to boost their hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 with a positive result against Sevilla.

Borussia Dortmund haven’t enjoyed the best of starts to the new season, and have lost three of their last four games. They will be desperate for a win on Wednesday to gain some much needed momentum ahead of Saturday’s clash against Bayern Munich.

Sevilla have made a poor start to the season, both in the Champions League and La Liga. They were comfortably beaten by Manchester City in their Champions League opener and could only manage a goalless draw against FC Copenhagen on matchday two. The pressure is on head coach Julen Lopetegui heading into Wednesday’s game.

Jude Bellingham is set to captain Borussia Dortmund once again on Wednesday in the absence of Marco Reus and Mats Hummels. There will also be a reunion with Thomas Delaney, who spent three years with BVB before joining Sevilla in 2021.
