Niklas Süle (5/10)

Süle was asked to slot in at right-back in the absence of Thomas Meunier. The German international did a fairly decent job all things considered, even though he did have a few problems in dealing with Bayern’s quality out wide. He switched over to centre-back after the break and struggled to find his footing. He also retreated too easily in the build-up to both of Bayern’s goals instead of making an effort to win the ball back.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels did not do much wrong on his return to the starting XI. He led the defence well and had a fairly solid game for much of the first half. But he was taken off at half time due to illness.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck put in a much improved and more determined performance in defence for his side. He made a number of vital defensive recoveries, and then did an excellent job of keeping the ball in play before setting up Anthony Modeste for Borussia Dortmund’s equaliser in the 95th minute.

Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)

Guerreiro put in a strong defensive shift and also forced a good save from Manuel Neuer in the first half. He wasn’t able to get involved in the attacking play as much as he would have liked. But he still had a few encouraging moments down the left wing.
