Niklas Süle: Edin Terzic unlike any other coach I have ever played under

Niklas Süle has heaped praise on Edin Terzic, saying that the Borussia Dortmund head coach is unlike any other trainer he has ever had.

Niklas Süle has played under some of the world’s top head coaches, including Carlo Ancelotti, Jupp Heynckes, Hansi Flick, and Julian Nagelsmann. But the Borussia Dortmund defender has said that working with Edin Terzic has been a very special experience for him.

Süle believes that Terzic’s passion for Borussia Dortmund makes the 39 year old unlike any other coach he has played under. During the pre-match press conference ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s UEFA Champions League clash against Sevilla, Süle said:

"“With Edin, I’ve had a whole new experience. I’ve never had a coach who is so attached to his club. Edin is a Dortmunder boy, and we notice that as a team every day. He carries us along and makes it clear to everyone what it means to play for this amazing club. That’s also something special for me. I think we can be very happy to have a coach who identifies so much with the club.”"

Edin Terzic has been a Borussia Dortmund supporter all his life and is very passionate about the club. He was appointed BVB’s interim head coach in December 2020 and led the team to the DFB-Pokal title. And after spending one year as the club’s technical director, he was given the head coach job on a permanent basis in the summer.

Terzic has made a fairly decent start to life as permanent head coach, and helped snap Borussia Dortmund’s losing streak against Bayern Munich at the weekend.

Niklas Süle joined Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer and has immediately established himself as an important player for the team. He was asked to play at right-back against his former club on Saturday, but did a fairly solid job all things considered. Süle has made a total of ten appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season.
