Edin Terzic is backing Karim Adeyemi to establish himself as a very important player for Borussia Dortmund in the coming months.

Karim Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund this summer amid high expectations after his breakthrough campaign with RB Salzburg last season. And the German international has managed to show glimpses of his quality, even though an injury prevented him from making as much of an impact as he would have liked.

Edin Terzic has now backed the highly rated forward to develop into a difference maker for his side. During the pre-match press conference ahead of the Bundesliga clash against Union Berlin, the Borussia Dortmund head coach said:

"“Karim didn’t have an easy start because he injured his toe on Matchday 1 and the injury kept causing him pain. But you’ve seen that he can always create a stir. We were not happy with the offensive performance on Tuesday, but that includes others as well. There are a few spaces on the pitch where we’d rather see him. These are issues that we are working on. We are certain that his development is not yet complete. He is a difference maker for us.”"

Adeyemi made a dream start to his Borussia Dortmund career, and scored on his competitive debut for the club in the DFB-Pokal first round tie against 1860 Munich. He then suffered a toe injury during the Bundesliga opener against Bayer Leverkusen and was forced to miss five games as a result.

Adeyemi made his return to action last month and has managed to show glimpses of his quality in recent weeks. He scored in the Champions League away game against Sevilla, before putting in an impressive performance off the bench against Bayern Munich. And the 20 year old will now be aiming to build on those performances in the coming weeks.
