Edin Terzic surprisingly changed his formation from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 on Tuesday. And while that didn’t pay off against Sevilla, having an extra man in attacking midfield may not be a bad idea against the resilient Union Berlin side.

Salih Özcan and Jude Bellingham have both been used heavily in recent weeks. But the importance of this game means that they may have to wait until the DFB-Pokal tie against Hannover 96 on Wednesday to get some rest.

Emre Can is the only other midfielder available in the Borussia Dortmund squad, with Gio Reyna unlikely to be deemed fit enough to play from the start just yet.

Julian Brandt will likely start in the number ten role, aiming to build on his encouraging start to the season. The playmaker will be crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of finding the breakthrough on Sunday.
