Borussia Dortmund fell to a 2-0 defeat to league leaders Union Berlin, slipping to eighth place in the Bundesliga standings as a result.

Yet another abject performance paved the way for a demoralising defeat, as Borussia Dortmund were handed a crushing blow by Union Berlin. A first half brace from Janik Haberer was enough to sink the Black and Yellows, who put in yet another fatigued and tired performance despite getting two more days of rest than their opponents.

Borussia Dortmund began the game slowly, and conceded twice in the first quarter of the game thanks to two individual errors. And things did not get any better after that, as Edin Terzic’s side struggled to find a way past the Union Berlin defence despite dominating possession.

At times it felt like the game could have gone on for another two hours and Borussia Dortmund would still not have found a way to score.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-0 defeat to Union Berlin.

Gregor Kobel (3/10)

Kobel looked sloppy in the early stages of the game and then had an unfortunate slip that gifted Union Berlin the opening goal. He did make a good save in the second half, but the damage was already done by then.
