The teams Borussia Dortmund could face in the DFB-Pokal last 16

Borussia Dortmund are through to the third round of the DFB-Pokal, and they will find out their last 16 opponents when the draw takes place on Sunday.
Borussia Dortmund were made to work hard but got the job done in the end against Hannover 96 on Wednesday to qualify for the DFB-Pokal round of 16. The Black and Yellows could be in for another tough test in the next round, with a number of big teams still in contention to win the competition.
The draw for the third round of the 2022/23 DFB-Pokal will take place on Sunday, October 23 at 19:15 CET.
Borussia Dortmund’s possible DFB-Pokal last 16 opponents
The second round of the 2022/23 DFB-Pokal produced plenty of upsets and exciting matches, and 16 teams now remain in the hunt to win the competition.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are among the favourites to win the DFB-Pokal this season, while holders RB Leipzig will also be determined to go far in the tournament. Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin are also in contention.
SV Darmstadt 98 produced the upset of the second round by eliminating Borussia Mönchengladbach. While SC Paderborn defeated Werder Bremen after a dramatic penalty shootout to qualify for the round of 16. Here are the 16 teams that will be in the DFB-Pokal third round draw on Sunday.
Bundesliga: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, SC Freiburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, TSG Hoffenheim, Mainz 05, VfL Wolfsburg, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Bochum
2. Bundesliga: SV Darmstadt 98, SC Paderborn, 1. FC Nürnberg, Fortuna Düsseldorf, SV Sandhausen
The DFB-Pokal last 16 matches will take place on 31 January-1 February and 7-8 February. The quarterfinals are scheduled for 4-5 April, while the semifinals are set to be played on 2-3 May. The 2022/23 DFB-Pokal final is set to take place on 3 June at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
