Sebastian Kehl: Jude Bellingham an incredibly valuable player for us

Sebastian Kehl was full of praise of Jude Bellingham after the midfielder scored a brace for Borussia Dortmund against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.

Jude Bellingham’s incredible start to the season continued on Saturday as he scored two goals and led Borussia Dortmund to a dominant 5-0 win over VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. The England international set the tone for his side by putting in another world class performance.

And Sebastian Kehl heaped big praise on the midfielder after the game. The Borussia Dortmund sporting director hailed Bellingham for steering the game in the right direction, and added that he is an incredibly important player to the team.

"“Jude was the one who steered the game in the right direction for us, just like he did against Hannover 96. He also had a good impact on the rest of the team. It was a really good game from him in all respects. He’s an incredibly valuable player for us.”"

Jude Bellingham’s brace against Stuttgart on Saturday helped him take his tally for the season to eight goals. He is Borussia Dortmund’s leading goalscorer so far this season, and has taken on the responsibility of leading the team from the front.

Bellingham’s impressive performances have seen him attract the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United all reportedly interested in signing him.

But Sebastian Kehl is confident that the 19 year old can take the next steps in his development with the Black and Yellows.

"“Jude was just as sought after before this game as he will be after this game. None of this changes the interest that will possibly arise in him one day. But he can develop further with us, he can take the next steps here with us – just as he has already done this season.”"

Bellingham has stated on a number of occasions that he is very happy at Borussia Dortmund. The midfielder still has more than two years left on his current contract. And BVB fans will certainly be hoping that he stays at the club for years to come.
