Defenders: Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels, Nico Schlotterbeck, Thorgan Hazard

Like Kobel, Mats Hummels was also taken off at half time on Wednesday as a precaution. But Edin Terzic gave both players the all-clear during his pre-match press conference. So the veteran centre-back is expected to start alongside Nico Schlotterbeck at centre-back against Bochum.

Niklas Süle will likely start at right-back once again, having impressed in that role in recent weeks. Another option could be to give Schlotterbeck some rest, and start with Felix Passlack at right-back.

Raphael Guerreiro is closing in on his return from injury, but it does not make much sense to put him in the starting XI straight away. Thorgan Hazard has done an okay job filling in at left-back all things considered. And he will be full of confidence after scoring his first goal of the season on Wednesday.
